PlumeCV (“PlumeCV,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website plumecv.com and the related resume tailoring service (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated as you use the Service:

  • Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google OAuth.
  • Resume and job content. Resumes, job descriptions, job URLs, cover letters, company answers, and any text you paste into the Service.
  • Generated content. Tailored resumes, match scores, analyses, and other AI-generated outputs produced for you.
  • Billing information. If you subscribe to Pro, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details. We store only subscription status and customer identifiers, not card numbers.
  • Usage data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps, collected automatically for security and product improvement.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
  • Generate resume analyses, tailored resumes, cover letters, and related outputs using third-party AI providers.
  • Authenticate you and secure your account.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Communicate with you about product updates, security notices, and support.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud or abuse.

3. AI Processing

To generate analyses and tailored documents, we send your resume text, job description, and related prompts to large language model providers routed through OpenRouter. We also use Jina Reader to fetch job posting content from URLs you provide. We do not sell your content to third parties and we do not use your resume content to train foundation models.

4. Sharing

We share information only with:

  • Service providers that help us run PlumeCV, including Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Google (authentication), Stripe (payments), OpenRouter (AI model routing), and Jina (URL content extraction).
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PlumeCV, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and resume data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your resumes and generated content from the dashboard. If you delete your account, we remove your personal content within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email support@plumecv.com to exercise these rights.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

PlumeCV is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Users

PlumeCV is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
